Repair or re-roof

The honest checklist, what's worth repairing and when the covering itself is done, is in the repair or re-roof guide, and the flat roof guide compares EPDM, GRP and felt head to head.

Frequently asked questions

Is the quote really free?

Yes. You tell us about the roof, it gets inspected and priced properly, and you decide in your own time. No charge and no pressure.

How quickly will I hear back?

Fast. The more detail you give in the form (roof type, age, what's wrong, photos if you have them), the faster and more accurate the quote.

How much does a roof repair cost in Teesside?

Most repairs cost £150 to £450, covering slipped tiles and slates, ridge and verge mortar, and flashing faults. Leak tracing is £80 to £150 where the source needs finding.

How much is a full re-roof?

£5,500 to £9,500 on a typical semi, £8,000 to £14,000 on a larger detached house, all-in: scaffolding, waste, breathable underlay, battens, covering, ridges and verges.

A slate has slipped off my roof. What should I do?

Get it refitted promptly. The gap takes water straight onto the underlay, and the slate itself is a hazard if it falls. It's one of the cheapest repairs going, typically £150 or so.

How long does a re-roof take?

Three to five working days for a typical semi in reasonable weather. Scaffolding goes up a few days before and the house stays weathertight every night as standard.

Do I need scaffolding for roof work?

For anything beyond a ladder-height repair, yes, and a quote worth accepting includes it. Re-roofing from ladders alone is a firm to walk away from.

Which flat roof is best, EPDM or GRP?

EPDM for most roofs: single sheet, no seams, tolerates standing water, 20-plus-year life. GRP wins for balconies and roofs you'll see from a window. Our comparison guide prices both.

Which areas do you cover?

All TS postcodes: Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees, Billingham, Thornaby, Redcar, Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Hartlepool, Yarm, Ingleby Barwick and everywhere between, TS1 through TS27.

Will I be pressured to buy?

No. You get a written quote and you decide. One follow-up call at most, then the ball is in your court.
